The most recent Sunday Night Football matchup featured the Philadelphia Eagles pulling off one of the most impressive wins of the year thus far, taking down the high-flying Miami Dolphins. NFC East rivalries never seem to disappoint, so we’ve provided both an Eagles vs. Commanders prediction and Eagles vs. Commanders player prop bets for you to enjoy. Those also come along with a brand new FanDuel Sportsbook sign-up offer.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders Prediction for NFL Week 8

The Washington Commanders were the team to end the Eagles undefeated streak last season, but Philly got their revenge earlier this month. It was a closer game than the Eagles faithful would have preferred, but the 34-31 victory got the job done.

That matchup also plays a part in why our Eagles vs. Commanders prediction is focused on the over/under rather than the points spread. After seeing what Philly did to the Dolphins on SNF, we’d lean their way, but divisional rivalries always seem to be closer than expected. With each of the last two meetings between these NFC East rivals going over the total, that’s our focus this week as well.

There isn’t much convincing that needs to be done in terms of Philly, as they're the fourth-highest scoring team in the NFL. The larger question is if Washington can do their part. The Commanders are averaging 20 points per game so far this year, and that should be all we need from them come Sunday. Even if they fall a bit short, they’ve allowed 40 points to the Chicago Bears and 33 to the Denver Broncos, two teams that are 2-5 on the year.

With Philly doing the majority of the work, our best Eagles vs. Commanders prediction is over 43.5 points (-110 at FanDuel Sportsbook).

Eagles vs. Commanders Player Prop Picks & Best Bets Targeting AJ Browns & D’Andre Swift

If you’re one who prefers markets outside of the standard, we’ve got you covered there as well with our Eagles vs. Commanders player prop bets. With the way WR AJ Brown has been going off this season and the increase in consistency, it’s no surprise that he’s our first target.

Last year, it felt as though Brown and Devonta Smith would take turns lighting up the box score. This year, Brown continues to steal the show. His numbers are absolutely ridiculous; over the past five games, he’s recorded 137, 131, 127, 175 and 131 receiving yards. The best of that bunch came against Washington, which is in large part why they’re allowing the fifth-most receiving yards per game.

Given that fact, we’re making Brown over 89.5 receiving yards (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook) the first of our Eagles vs. Commanders player prop bets. Along with the Philly WR, we’re also eyeing D’Andre Swift in the same regard. Ever since that Week 1 dud that was clearly an anomaly, he has been nearly as popular as a different Swift - Taylor - for his fantasy owners.

He’s proven to be a true dual-threat, and for that reason, we’re taking a bit of a unique approach and focusing on his receiving yards. Swift has averaged over five receptions per game since the Commanders game earlier this month, and he even saw a ridiculous 10 targets against the New York Jets stout defense.

Backing both Swift’s receiving yards and Brown’s receiving yards may feel a little greedy, but the Philly offense has the firepower for it. Therefore, we’re rounding out our Eagles vs. Commanders best bets with Swift over 17.5 receiving yards (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook).

Now that you have our Eagles vs. Commanders player prop bets, we also want to share with you a great way to utilize them. Kevin Byard & Julio Jones: Two Newest Eagles

Along with the Eagles taking down the Dolphins, some of the other bigger news out of Philly was their additions of Julio Jones and Kevin Byard. Jones saw the field against Miami, and it’s another connection to Hurts’ Alabama days.

As for Byard, the Eagles are accustomed to snagging players from the Tennessee Titans, as Brown was once there as well. As a team that is already favored to win the NFC, it’s becoming an embarrassment of riches at this point. That only provides more reason to back Philly with your $5+ money line bet, so make sure you join FanDuel today to get them at 30/1 odds.
