Super Bowl 57 Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Super Bowl player prop bets are all the rage this year, especially over on FanDuel Sportsbook where new users can get a $3,000 No Sweat First Bet when they sign up but the matchup between the Chiefs and Eagles is one that has many underlying storylines from the Kelce brothers facing one another to Andy Ried coaching against his former team. Ultimately, the game has to be played on the field and not in the headlines and when it comes to this matchup it’s difficult not to like the Eagles as 1.5-point favorites here against the Chiefs.

Philadelphia comes in with the top-rated pass defense and they led the league with 70 sacks. The Chiefs are less than 100% with receivers Mecole Hardman already ruled out and the likes of Kadarius Toney and JuJu Smith-Schuster banged up. Not only are the receivers hurt but Patrick Mahomes himself is still dealing with an ankle injury. Last week we saw Travis Kelce also pop up on the NFL injury report with back spasms. It all feels just too much for the Chiefs to overcome and that’s without even analyzing the matchup between the Chiefs defense against the high-scoring Eagles offense led by Jalen Hurts.

Super Bowl Player Props and Betting Odds at FanDuel Sportsbook

When it comes to the Super Bowl one of the more popular Super Bowl player prop bets being placed is on the Super Bowl 57 MVP. Patrick Mahomes won this award for the Chiefs Super Bowl LIV win over the 49ers. As of right now, these are the top Super Bowl MVP Odds over on FanDuel Sportsbook:

  • Patrick Mahomes: +130
  • Jalen Hurts: +130
  • Travis Kelce +1600
  • AJ Brown +1800
  • Miles Sanders +1800
  • DeVonta Smith +3100

It should be no surprise that the two QBs are the favorites to win the Super Bowl MVP as QB has won this award in 31 of the 56 prior Super Bowls including in 11 of the last 16 Super Bowls. That said, last year's winner was wide receiver Cooper Kupp who finished the game with eight catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams Super Bowl LVI win over the Bengals.

Not interested in making any Super Bowl player prop bets on the MVP? No worries, FanDuel Sportsbook has tons of available markets for Super Bowl 57, and right now new users who sign up are rewarded with a No Sweat First Bet worth up to $3,000.

Our Super Bowl 57 Player Prop Best Bet: Boston Scott Over 8.5 Rushing Yards (-122) at FanDuel Sportsbook

When it comes to our pick for the Super Bowl 57 player prop bets we are looking at the rushing yards for Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott. This may seem a bit unconventional to some but his rushing prop is set at just 8.5 yards with a betting line of -122 on the over. What this means is that a bet of $122 would win me $100 if Scott was to exceed 8.5 rushing yards.

Why do we like this prop? Well, Scott has gone over this total in each of the playoff games this season, totaling 21 yards in the NFC Championship game against the 49ers and 32 yards in the NFC Divisional Round matchup against the Giants. Scott has received six carries in each of those two contests and he should see a similar workload here against the Chiefs based on the Eagles offensive play style. During the 2022-23 NFL season, the Eagles ran the football on 50.4% of their offensive plays which was the fourth-highest total in football.

Because the team runs the football so much they utilize all three running backs in their offense with Miles Sanders at the lead back and the duo of Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott also receiving touches. Scott has also eclipsed this rushing yard mark in 10 of the 17 games he appeared in this season, including six of the last nine.
