Results of All Philadelphia Eagles Draft Picks in 2023 Including Jalen Carter
The Philadelphia Eagles entered the 2023 NFL Draft in perhaps the best position of any team in the league. The Eagles already had a strong roster that propelled them to last season’s Super Bowl, but they also had a great opportunity to replenish their roster through the draft. In addition to the 30th overall pick, Philadelphia also had the 10th overall pick thanks to a prior trade with the New Orleans Saints.
However, the Eagles did not wait around for pick number 10, as they traded up one slot and made defensive tackle Jalen Carter the first of many Philadelphia Eagles draft picks. Most NFL Draft reactions loved this pick by the Eagles, as Carter was perhaps the best prospect in the draft. Carter fell due to some character concerns, but the Eagles felt comfortable taking him to add to a defense that features a few of his former college teammates, Nakobe Dean and Jordan Davis.
The Eagles didn’t stop there with former Georgia Bulldogs, as the second of the Philadelphia Eagles draft picks was used on linebacker Nolan Smith with the 30th overall pick. Adding two players from arguably the best defense in college football last season can only be seen as a win for Philadelphia.
The rest of the Philadelphia Eagles draft picks are below:
- 2nd round, No. 65 overall – OL Tyler Steen
- 3rd round, No. 66 overall – S Sydney Brown
- 4th round, No. 105 overall – CB Kelee Ringo
- 6th round, No. 188 overall – QB Tanner McKee
- 7th round, No. 249 overall – DT Moro Ojomo
Analysis & Reaction to the Eagles 2023 NFL Draft
With two picks in the first round, the Philadelphia Eagles were set up for success entering the NFL Draft. It’s hard to imagine the first round could have gone any better for them, as they were able to add arguably the best player in the draft in Jalen Carter, as well as Nolan Smith at number 30, who many felt was a top-15 player.
The rest of the Eagles' picks aren’t particularly noteworthy, but they did take some high-upside players in safety Sydney Brown and defensive tackle Moro Ojomo. Pro Football Focus thought incredibly highly of the Philadelphia Eagles draft picks, giving the team an A+ grade in their NFL Draft reactions.
Predictions & Best Bets for the Eagles in the Upcoming NFL Season
Now that the 2023 NFL Draft has come to an end, FanDuel Sportsbook has several NFL markets that you can bet on for the upcoming season. The Philadelphia Eagles are currently the favorite to win the NFC, but our experts think the better bet is taking the Eagles to win the NFC East (+105 at FanDuel).
The Eagles are obviously projected to be one of the best teams in the NFL again this season. However, their Division Future price benefits by playing in a tough division. Last season, no NFC East team finished below .500 and while that may not happen again, there are no easy wins in the division.
Because of this, the Eagles are still at plus money to win the division, unlike many of the other elite teams in the NFL. For example, the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs are -165 and -160, respectively, to win their divisions. With a price of +105, our experts are comfortable backing the Eagles to win the NFC East at FanDuel Sportsbook.
