Eagles vs. Colts Preseason: How to Watch, Betting Odds
The Philadelphia Eagles host the Indianapolis Colts in the preseason finale for both teams on Thursday as they hope to trim rosters to 53 before the Aug. 29 deadline.
Last week, the Colts came from behind to beat the Chicago Bears 24-17 while Philly battled Cleveland in a very unstable 18-18 tie with no overtime in the preseason.
The Colts recently crowned starting quarterback, Anthony Richardson, and "a lot of starters" will play Thursday night per head coach Shane Steichen. For Richardson, it'll be his last chance for something close to real game experience before the regular season kicks off.
"It's just more reps," Richardson said. "That's all it is for me, more reps. Just trying to grind and eat away at greatness day by day by getting more reps against a great team."
The lone joint practice between the two teams on Tuesday ended with a bang ... and punches being thrown. The practice had been chippy all morning. But the proverbial volcano erupted when Eagles center Jason Kelce hunted down Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin after a hard hit on wideout Kenneth Gainwell that Kelce took exception to.
The rest of the joint practice was canceled after the fight.
