Sep 10, 2023; Landover, Maryland, USA; Arizona Cardinals quarterback Joshua Dobbs (9) loses a fumble against the Washington Commanders in the second half at FedExField.

Let us just forget it. At this point, that is really the only thing that can be done. Heading into last week, there was a lot of talk about the New York Giants’ poor track record against the Dallas Cowboys, but there was optimism for the new season. At this point, there is no reason to look backward. That is the past, head coach Brian Daboll said all of the right things, and we have to trust in a resurgence this week.

The Arizona Cardinals traveled east to begin the season and played a tight game, albeit in a losing effort, against the Washington Commanders. In a season in which nothing was really expected from the Cardinals, they were at least competitive. That was not the case for the Giants, but they are the more talented team, as they did enter 2023 with expectations in hand.

With that being said, there is a lot to think about before Sunday’s game. What can we expect from a betting perspective as each team looks for a victory? Let us take a look at our Giants vs. Cardinals prediction with the odds provided by Bet365 Sportsbook. Be sure to check out some of our other NFL expert picks for today.

New York Giants vs. Arizona Cardinals Predictions for NFL Week 2 on Sunday

It does sound crazy, but I would still argue that the Giants are in a better spot than the Cardinals heading into Week 2. Each team is coming off a loss, but the Giants’ defense actually had a pretty strong game. While the Dallas Cowboys did put up 40 points, they only allowed 265 yards. Granted, that is because the Cowboys were able to capitalize on defense and special teams, but we are still talking about a strong defense.

This week, things should get easier for New York. Fill-in quarterback Joshua Dobbs only threw for 132 yards to begin the season, and he is not exactly going to keep opposing coaches up at night. By the same point, the Cardinals only generated 96 yards on the ground, and a 28.6% success rate on third down should allow the Giants’ defense to get off the field quickly.

Giants vs. Cardinals Picks & NFL Best Bets for Week 2

After receiving a large contract extension in the offseason, Daniel Jones completed just 15 of 28 passes for 104 yards. Jones was also intercepted twice while being sacked seven times. While the Arizona defense did have six sacks on Sunday, they are not as good as the Cowboys’ defense, and things were just an overall mess for New York.

The weather conditions figure to be drastically better this week, and the only place for the Giants’ offensive line to go is up. If Jones can manage to not turn the ball over, New York should easily win the time-of-possession battle, and the Giants will be able to lean on Saquon Barkley. Once the Giants get ahead, it is hard to envision Dobbs being able to lead Arizona back to victory.

With that being said, the thought process here is that we can take the Giants to at least cover the spread as underdogs. So, with our Giants vs. Cardinals prediction, the play is New York +4.5 (-110 at Bet365).

Giants vs. Cardinals Injury Reports Heading Into Week 2

On the Cardinals’ side, the obvious injury is Kyler Murray’s absence, which means we get to see Joshua Dobbs under center. The other injury to keep an eye on is perhaps the most critical to Arizona’s offense. James Conner was dealing with a calf injury on Wednesday, which caused him to be limited in practice. If he is not available, then the Giants truly have an advantage.

While Darren Waller continues to deal with a hamstring injury, the good news is that the Giants are healthy to this point.
