Analysis & Reaction to the Giants 2023 NFL Draft

The main takeaway here is that the Giants got their players. Every team enters the draft with their board set up and specific targets in mind based on need and draft position, and New York seemingly was able to deliver here.

After having to release James Bradbury due to salary cap reasons last season, the Giants were looking for a cornerback to put opposite Adoree Jackson and to perhaps take over for him next year, so trading up one spot to secure Banks was both targeted and a wise move.

All of last season, the offensive line was a weakness for New York, especially at the center position. With the incumbents playing elsewhere in 2023, this was a clear need, and Schmitz should do a great job of filling that hole.

Following the Giants' commitment to Daniel Jones under center, it became clear that New York needed to get their signal caller more weapons. In trading up for the speedy Hyatt, that task was certainly accomplished, as this could certainly help take the Giants offense to the next level.
