2024 NFL Draft: Who Do Jaguars Land in Early First-Round Mock?
In fewer than 100 days, the 2024 NFL Draft will be on our doorsteps and all 32 franchises will be making decisions to shape their present and their future.
To take a look at how such a draft and first-round might play out a few months ahead, here is our first full first-round mock of the draft season.
No. 1, Chicago Bears: USC QB Caleb Williams
The Bears could trade this pick for a king's ransom and stick with Justin Fields, but it just makes more sense to restart the rookie quarterback contract timeline.
No. 2, Washington Commanders: UNC QB Drake Maye
The Commanders need a quarterback, and this time they take one from UNC who can, you know, play.
No. 3, New England Patriots: LSU QB Jayden Daniels
This pick seems telegraphed, even a few months out. The Patriots seem like a lock to take the third quarterback.
No. 4, Arizona Cardinals: Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
The Cardinals and Kyler Murray rejoice as arguably the best player in the draft falls to them.
No. 5, Los Angeles Chargers: Notre Dame OL Joe Alt
The Chargers could go with a skill player here, but rebuilding the trenches for Jim Harbaugh makes a lot of sense.
No. 6, New York Giants: LSU WR Malik Nabers
The Giants need more firepower on offense as they still search for an answer at quarterback. Malik Nabers might be the most explosive receiver prospect since Jaylen Waddle.
No. 7, Tennessee Titans: Penn State OL Olumuyiwa Fashanu
The Titans can pop champagne with this pick. Fashanu is a legit top-3 pick-level prospect.
No. 8, Atlanta Falcons: Alabama EDGE Dallas Turner
With Calais Campbell and Bud Dupree set to be free agents, the Falcons need to find a new No. 1 pass-rusher with some youth.
No. 9, Chicago Bears: Washington WR Rome Odunze
The Bears round out their receiver room with a perfect compliment to D.J. Moore.
No. 10, New York Jets: Georgia TE Brock Bowers
The Jets have much bigger needs here, but adding one of the best players in the draft at No. 10 is something they shouldn't avoid.
No. 11, Minnesota Vikings: FSU EDGE Jared Verse
With the future of Danielle Hunter up in the air, it makes sense for the Vikings to go after a pro-ready edge.
No. 12, Denver Broncos: Oregon QB Bo Nix
Bo Nix shouldn't go this high, but the Denver Broncos will likely be beyond desperate at the quarterback position this offseason.
No. 13, Las Vegas Raiders: Alabama CB Terrion Arnold
Antonio Pierce gets one of the best defensive backs in the draft to pair with the surging Jack Jones.
No. 14, New Orleans Saints: UCLA EDGE Laiatu Latu
The Saints need to add youth to their pass-rush, even after taking a second-round edge a year ago.
No. 15, Indianapolis Colts: Iowa CB Cooper DeJean
The Colts were keeping their secondary together with gum and band-aids a year ago. Cooper DeJean is a good fit for the Gus Bradley system.
No. 16, Seattle Seahawks: Illinois DL Jer'Zhan Newton
They signed Dre'Mont Jones and traded for Leonard Williams, but adding some youth to the defensive line would do wonders for their run defense.
No. 17, Jacksonville Jaguars: Clemson CB Nate Wiggins
The Jaguars need more cornerbacks for both 2024 and beyond, and they get one of the best in the draft here. Plus, he is a good fit for new defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen's press-man scheme.
No. 18, Cincinnati Bengals: Alabama OL JC Latham
The Bengals still don't have a good offensive line. Still!
No. 19, Los Angeles Rams: Oregon State OL Taliese Fuaga
The Rams have several holes they could address, but getting better up front makes a lot of sense for an aging quarterback.
No. 20, Pittsburgh Steelers: Alabama CB Kool-Aid McKinstry
The Steelers add another talented cornerback a year after drafting Joey Porter Jr., giving them a pair of lockdown defenders for the future.
No. 21, Miami Dolphins: Georgia OL Amarius Mims
The Dolphins' offensive line got banged up far too much in 2023, plus their left tackle might retire.
No. 22, Philadelphia Eagles: LSU WR Brian Thomas Jr.
A.J. Brown's future could be cloudy with the Eagles, but they badly need to improve their overall receiver depth either way.
No. 23, Houston Texans: Texas DL Byron Murphy
Houston has several defensive linemen set to hit free-agency, so adding a talented defender like Byron Murphy makes a lot of sense.
No. 24, Dallas Cowboys: Oregon WR Troy Franklin
The playoffs showed how badly the Cowboys need another explosive receiver on the roster.
No. 25, Green Bay Packers: Arizona OL Jordan Morgan
The Packers are one of the best franchises in the NFL at drafting and developing offensive linemen. They do so again here with questions at left tackle.
No. 26, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Alabama EDGE Chris Braswell
Calijah Kancey has been a boon for the Buccaneers, and they add a pass-rusher who can line up right next to him here.
No. 27, Arizona Cardinals: Missouri CB Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
The Cardinals badly need a No. 1 cornerback to step up in 2024, so it makes sense to pour a first-round pick into the room.
No. 28, Buffalo Bills: Washington OL Troy Fautanu
Buffalo's offense was a bit worse after the Ken Dorsey firing, but adding another versatile and talented offensive lineman should raise the floor.
No. 29, Kansas City Chiefs: FSU WR Keon Coleman
The Chiefs need to keep throwing darts at the wide receiver position, and this would give them one of the most talented and one of the youngest in the draft.
No. 30, Detroit Lions: Washington EDGE Bralen Trice
Aidan Hutchinson has been a great player for the Lions, but it is past time they add a pass-rusher next to him.
No. 31, San Francisco 49ers: Georgia CB Kamari Lassiter
The 49ers have one of the best rosters in football, but their secondary could use some youthful depth.
No. 32, Baltimore Ravens: Miami DL Leonard Talor III
The Ravens are always able to get the best out of physically talented defenders and can do that here to help replace Justin Madubuike.
