Lions' Week 3 Wednesday Injury Report

Read more on the Lions' initial Week 3 injury report.

The Detroit Lions will find themselves counting on several new players when they take the field this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

A myriad of injuries has kept key contributors from practicing to start the week in Allen Park, including Amon-Ra St. Brown, Taylor Decker and David Montgomery.

For Lions head coach Dan Campbell, the "train" does not stop when a team suffers multiple injuries in the same week.

Among the many objectives for Campbell's squad this week is working towards establishing its identity, in order to be able to execute at a high level in front of the home crowd at Ford Field.

“I think, more than anything, it’s about, we get into specifics of how do you beat this team. To me, it’s about us. It’s about us," said Campbell. "Not more, it is about us. I came away, and when you look back, let’s get back to what we’re about, our identity.

"I think we’ve got to establish our identity. If that’s our focus and that’s the way we practice, that’s the way we attack it. I think everything else will fall right into place. So, let’s get back to all those things that we preach on offense and defense. The finish, the population to the football, striking the football, biting the ball. Offensively, finishing in a dominating position, and that’s gotta be the focus and it starts today. I think we do that, we’ll be okay.”

Detroit has played Atlanta a total of 39 times, and it leads the all-time series, 25-14.
