Laviska Shenault Jr. Signs with Seahawks

Carolina lets Shenault walk.

The Laviska Shenault Jr. experience didn't work out in Carolina, but we can partially blame that on injuries and the constant change of offensive philosophy since he was traded to the organization back in August of 2022. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Media, Shenault is now a Seattle Seahawk.

The idea in Carolina was that Shenault would not only be able to help the Panthers at receiver, but potentially in the backfield as well as a hybrid RB/WR.

During OTAs last year, head coach Frank Reich was extremely excited about what the versatile receiver brought to the table and even compared his skillset to one of the most talented hybrids in the league.

"You look at guys like Deebo Samuel and stuff like that and you say, 'Well, can Laviska do some of that kind of stuff?' Of course, he can. So, we'll experiment with some of that stuff and some of it will get incorporated and some of it won't."

Shenault was banged up throughout the 2023 season and was limited to just eight games. In his two years with the Panthers, he rushed the ball 21 times for 120 yards and a touchdown while reeling in 37 passes for 332 yards and a score.
