The Las Vegas Raiders' future quarterback could be participating in the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine drills at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The Raiders hold the seventh overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft. With the need for a quarterback, the attention of the organization and scouts attending the event will turn most of the focus on this group of prospects.

A total of 15 quarterbacks will be attending, but not all will participate in Saturday’s drills. Some will showcase their skills on their school’s Pro Day.

Among them are four, possibly five quarterbacks projected to be selected in the draft's first round.

"I mean, I think there's always urgency at that position," Raiders Coach Josh McDaniels said at the NFL Combine on Tuesday. "You know, look, the goal for us eventually is to have somebody that's going to be here for a long time. I think that you know, you see the teams that are having success right now in our league, I would say in our conference, and specifically, in our division, you know, they're young players who were drafted by their clubs, and they're being developed there under the same continuity.”

The full list of prospects attending the combine is listed here, but below are the prospects the Raiders have talked to and will have a closer look at during drills.

Bryce Young, Alabama

C.J. Stroud, Ohio State

Anthony Richardson, Florida

Will Levis, Kentucky

Hendon Hooker, Tennessee

Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA

Tanner Mckee, Stanford

Jake Haener, Fresno State

First Round/Top-Ten:

There’s no decisive call on which top quarterback prospects will be selected first or if a team would move up via trade to draft their desired future star.

We know that Young has been ranked the top quarterback in this year’s draft class but finds himself out of reach for the Raiders.

The scouts will have a closer look at this group of quarterbacks and eventually decide if any of them can become the face of the franchise for years to come.

Second Day:

Hooker, Thomson-Robinson, and McKee are all different in their playing style and have the characteristics of a good backup over a starting quarterback.

While they can potentially become a starter in the league, learning behind a veteran for a few years might be the best, but unfortunately, the Raiders don’t have a quarterback to learn from.

OVERALL: The Raiders have an important decision to make here, but hopefully, the NFL Combine will help them edge one or two prospects before Pro Days and their final decision on draft day.

The quarterbacks, along with the wide receivers and tight ends, will begin their drills on Saturday, March 4, at 10 a.m. PDT.

The NFL Draft will occur at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo., from Thursday, April 27 to Saturday, April 29. ESPN, ABC, and NFL Network will broadcast all seven rounds.  March 7, 2023, before 4 p.m. EST, is the club's deadline to designate Franchise or Transition Players.

March 13-15 is the free agent negotiation period. Starting at 12 p.m. EDT on March 13 and ending at 3:59:59 p.m. EDT on March 15, clubs are permitted to contact and enter into contract negotiations with the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the expiration of their 2022 Player Contracts at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15.

The 2023 NFL Year and Free Agency period begins at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15. The Raiders are expected to be significant players in the free-agent market this season.
