The Las Vegas Raiders are on the market for a quarterback, and while the 2023 NFL Draft seems to be their gateway to success, adding a low-cost free agent might not be a bad idea.

A few days after the Washington Commanders released quarterback Carson Wentz, the Raiders are among the favorites to land the veteran quarterback.

Courtesy of our friends at BetOnline, the Kansas City Chiefs are the favorite to land Wentz, followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Raiders.

Wentz appeared in eight games for the Commanders and made seven starts, completing 172 passes for 1,755 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions, with a 2-5 record as the starting quarterback.

It is uncertain whether Wentz will start for an NFL team in 2023; however, a needy team might want to sign him as a backup quarterback.

Wentz’s most up-to-date lines are listed below, which include odds for landing in the CFL and XFL.

Wentz Next Team Odds:

Chiefs 3/1

Bucs 4/1

Raiders 6/1

Bills 7/1

Cardinals 7/1

Falcons 7/1

Panthers 7/1

Jets 8/1

Texans 8/1

Saints 10/1

Any CFL Team 20/1

Any XFL Team 20/1

The Chiefs no longer have a backup quarterback. Chad Henne retired following their Super Bowl win, leaving the door open for the veteran quarterback to come in and provide insurance to the reigning MVP.

The Buccaneers are in an awful cap situation this offseason, and while they hold the 19th overall pick in this year’s draft, signing Wentz might be the cost-effective solution to their rebuilding mode.

The Raiders' quarterback situation is complicated. Wentz will not be the long-term nor the short-term solution, but at this point of his career, he can help a young rookie transition to the NFL and provide quality depth at quarterback.

Wentz could reunite with Coach Frank Reich in Carolina. Reich was his offensive coordinator during his days with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Panthers hold the No. 9 overall pick in this year’s draft and are in the same situation as the Raiders.

The NFL Draft will occur at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo., from Thursday, April 27 to Saturday, April 29. ESPN, ABC, and NFL Network will broadcast all seven rounds.

On March 7, 2023, before 4 p.m. EST, is the club's deadline to designate Franchise or Transition Players.
