Deebo Samuel '50-50' to Play in 49ers NFC Title Game

Deebo Samuel is considered 50-50 to play in the San Francisco 49ers NFC title game against the Detroit Lions.

Deebo Samuel, the 49ers' wide receiver, exited early in the first quarter in Saturday's triumph over the Packers due to a shoulder injury. And despite Samuel's expressed eagerness to return during the Green Bay Packers game, he was unable to do so.

This has cast doubt on his availability for the upcoming NFC Championship Game against the Detroit Lions, in what will be the team's third consecutive appearance.

As reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the 49ers are currently assessing Samuel's chances at a "50-50" likelihood for the upcoming game against the Lions.

It's worth noting that Samuel also injured his shoulder earlier in the season vs. the Browns, incurring a hairline fracture, which led to a two-week hiatus. However, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media brings positive news this time, reporting that X-rays of Samuel's shoulder have yielded negative results.

During the second drive against the Packers, Samuel suffered an injury that prompted him to head to the locker room for evaluation. Following halftime, he was officially ruled out for the rest of the game.

Following a hit on the Niners' first drive, Samuel underwent evaluation for a head injury and received clearance to return. Prior to being sidelined, he had made two catches for a total of 24 yards. This season, the 28-year-old had 60 catches for 892 yards in 15 games.

The possibility of Samuel's participation against Detroit remains open, with a clearer outlook anticipated based on his involvement in practice later in the week.
