Saints vs. Packers Predictions, Picks & Odds For NFL Week 3: Sun, 9/24

New Orleans Saints at Green Bay Packers predictions, picks, and odds for Week 3.

Coming off their Monday Night Football victory, the New Orleans Saints (2-0) travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers (1-1) on Sunday. The Saints will be entering hostile territory at its peak, considering this will be the debut of 2023 Cheeseheads in the Packers’ home opener.

The Saints are expected to be down multiple components in their backfield, so Tony Jones Jr. will have to suffice with a passing attack that needs to improve quickly with Derek Carr if the Saints hope to build on their winning ways.

Held up by a sturdy defense, the Saints will surprisingly be in for a battle against the most dynamic offense they will have faced yet. We have a quality matchup on our hands, so we must deliver our expert Saints vs. Packers predictions with betting odds and a welcome bonus powered by BetMGM Sportsbook.

Saints vs. Packers Predictions for NFL Week 3 on Sunday, 9/24

The Packers may have fumbled a 24-12 lead late in Atlanta against the fellow NFC South Falcons, but we would be lying if we didn’t agree this young Packer offense has exceeded expectations through two road games to begin the Jordan Love era.

In Week 1, the Packers shredded their arch-rival Chicago Bears, 38-20. The Packers put on a full display with rushing, passing and defensive touchdowns. Last week, despite the one-point loss, Love tossed three touchdowns to reach an NFL-leading six through two games. Mind you, the Packers’ top wideout Christian Watson has yet to play, and the team’s best offensive weapon, Aaron Jones, was unavailable in Week 2 at Atlanta. With Watson trending to play, Jones a possibility and the Saints down key components in their backfield, we understand why the Packers are slight home favorites on Sunday.

We are not worried about the Saints’ defense, which has been consistently great at each level in both games. This defense should keep the Packers at bay regardless of who is available, more so than either of the Packers’ first two opponents. Additionally, the Packers will be without guard Elgton Jenkins, and David Bakhtiari is dealing with nagging injuries of his own, so the Packers’ excellent offensive line could look more vulnerable against a Saints pass rush that has already stacked up seven sacks.

Derek Carr will have to step up, along with weapons outside of Chris Olave, if the Saints hope to win this game. But given two solid defenses and a barrage of weapons that are questionable to play on each side, we are going to avoid a side when it comes to our official Saints vs. Packers predictions.

Saints vs. Packers NFL Picks Highlighting Under 42.5 Total Points

In a matchup between two quality defenses and some hampered skill players, we like this game to go under its BetMGM game total.

With no Williams or Kamara for the Saints, and potentially no Watson and Jones for the Packers still, or at least neither at 100%, we are confident in taking Under 42.5 total points (-110 at BetMGM). While both Packer games have gone over this total, Green Bay has yet to face a defense like this. Besides, both Saints games have gone under this point total.

The Saints’ offense could be pass-dependent on Sunday, an area Carr and his receivers need to get on track. The Packers could be missing some weapons and some O-linemen, so the safest play is to take the under.
