Rams vs. Seahawks Predictions for NFL Week 1 on Sunday, 9/10

This Rams season also hasn't started out great, after Cooper Kupp suffered a hamstring injury earlier this offseason. It was looking like he would be ready for Week 1, however, he suffered a setback last week and has since been ruled out. Head Coach Sean McVay also wouldn't rule out a stint on the IR for Kupp.

With Kupp being out, we believe the Rams are going to want to lean on the running game with Cam Akers as they did to finish the season last year. Akers was fantastic down the stretch finishing with over 100 yards in his final three games including 104 against the Seahawks in Week 18. However, if the Rams get down early that puts a lot of pressure on Matthew Stafford and his group of young wide receivers. Stafford will need to rely on Van Jefferson, Ben Skowronek, Tutu Atwell, and rookie Puka Nacua.

As for the Seahawks, they have high expectations this season starting in Week 1 against the Rams. The Seahawks swept the season series last year winning 27-23 and 19-16 in their two matchups.

On paper, the Seahawks are a much better team with a solid defense, and an explosive offense featuring DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Kenneth Walker. Veteran quarterback Geno Smith looks to build on his great season last year in which he ranked fifth in true completion percentage.
