NFL Draft: Seahawks Seeking Trade Down From No. 5 with Raiders?
The Seattle Seahawks hold a powerful position with the No. 5 pick in this month's NFL Draft.
Given the fact that this pick originally belonged to the Denver Broncos and was part of the Russell Wilson trade, the Seahawks could be looking to gain even more from their blockbuster deal that they've already won by a country mile.
ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler says via Bleacher Report that the Seahawks could be in prime position to trade down with the Las Vegas Raiders possibly looking to draft Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson.
"Drum up some interest for Richardson to have a quarterback-needy team step up and try to get him," Fowler said. "You look at the Raiders at No. 7. I've talked to a few teams that are watching the Raiders there."
A trade to move down two picks will be a small sacrifice to receive another asset, and if the Seahawks are eyeing a defensive player, there's a good chance he will still be on the board at No. 7 if the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Raiders all take a quarterback.
Given the fact that the Seahawks also have the No. 20 pick, Seattle should at least have the phone lines open and ready for business.
