Seattle Seahawks Draft Picks Leading Up to Tonight

The Seattle Seahawks will enjoy a bevy of draft picks in the 2023 NFL Draft. They will first select with a coveted top-five overall selection (pick #5) in the first round. Their next pick will be later in the first, with the 20th overall pick.

On day two, the Seahawks will have three total selections: pick #6 of the second round (#37 overall), pick #21 of the second round (#52 overall), and pick #20 of the third round (#83 overall).

The Seahawks will be on the board with the fifth overall selection, and, with their QB situation more-or-less figured out, they will likely look to address other pressing positions of need. The Seahawks’ offense is essentially locked-in, led by 2022 draft pick Kenneth Walker Jr. and veteran receivers D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett; however, they could use some help on both lines and in the defensive back department.

At pick #5, there will likely be one or more top-tier EDGE/DT available. With a high level of talent and future production at the defensive line available in the 2023 Draft class, this is a likely route for the Seahawks with their first selection. As a result, our top Seahawks draft prediction is for Seattle to select one of Jalen Carter (DL, Georgia) or Will Anderson, Jr. (EDGE, Alabama).

For our money, we think Seattle will go with Jalen Carter at #5 overall. He is considered by many draft experts to be the most talented defensive lineman in his class, and he would be a no-doubt top-five overall selection had he not run into legal issues earlier this year. However, those issues are behind him, and Seattle coach Pete Carroll has shown a willingness to take a shot on players with questionable makeup. With our top Seahawks draft prediction, we believe Carroll will give the uber-talented Carter a shot, enhancing their defensive front for years to come.
