Seahawks Could Face 'Impressive' Titans QB Will Levis

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis is questionable against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seattle Seahawks are facing a Tennessee Titans team with two quarterbacks that could potentially start tomorrow.

The Titans would prefer to start second-round rookie Will Levis, but he is questionable with an ankle injury he suffered in last week's loss against the Houston Texans. But if he cannot go, the Titans will start veteran Ryan Tannehill.

Kentucky Wildcats quarterback Will Levis (7) passes the ball during the third quarter against the Georgia Bulldogs at Kroger Field.

“Will Levis has come on. He’s really shown a lot of bright spots. He’s been very aggressive, very strong thrower. He’s quick, he’s fast, he’s tough. He’s handling the system and all that, so I can see why they’re fired up about growing with him and seeing him develop," Carroll said. "Ryan Tannehill has been a good football player for a long time. They got off to a pretty even start with him, and then he got hurt. ... They gave Levis a chance to play, but Ryan comes back and he’s an accomplished, established, experienced quarterback that can run this offense. We’ve got to get ready for all of that.”

The Seahawks are ready for either test, but they know they will have their hands full if Levis starts. Levis was among those considered for the Seahawks' first-round picks in the 2023 NFL Draft. Ultimately, Seattle opted to choose cornerback Devon Witherspoon and receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, but the team holds Levis in high regard.

“He’s really smart, really bright kid," Carroll said. "Good command, confident, really impressive. He’s a very impressive guy. We thought that he was as good as prospect as anybody in the group there. ... He’s so sharp and can handle it and put it in the right perspective. I don’t know that until you really get with him, but that’s what our impressions were. We really thought a lot of him.”

Levis has built chemistry with DeAndre Hopkins, who allows him to flex his deep ball accuracy. If the Titans can stop or limit that, the Seahawks' chances of winning the game will increase.

The Seahawks and Titans are set to kick off at 10 a.m. PT inside Nissan Stadium.
