NASHVILLE — It's been a heck of a ride for Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee Titans for the past six years. Vrabel, who was fired on Tuesday, went 54-45 since joining the Nashville franchise in 2018.
The Titans made the playoffs three times during his tenure, The Titans went 9-7 in his first two seasons, and advanced to the AFC Championship Game during the 2019 season, beating the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens along the way before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.
A year later, the Titans finished 11-5, but lost in the first round of the playoffs. The following year, in 2021, the Titans entered the postseason as the AFC's No.1 seed with a 12-5 record, but then lost their home playoff game to the Cincinnati Bengals.
But the last two seasons have been rough. They lost their final seven games in the 2022 season, missing out on the playoffs with a final-game loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars to finish 7-10.
This year was even worse, finishing 6-11. “It also has been just frustrating this year. And nobody wants to be where we're at,” Vrabel said last week.
At least he won his final game, beating Jacksonville 28-20 on Sunday at Nissan Stadium. It was the Titans' only win against an AFC South opponent all year, getting swept by the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts.
But through it all, it's been a wild ride with Vrabel, a former Super Bowl champion as a player. Here's a collection of two dozen pictures from his time with the Titans. Enjoy!
