The Coronavirus continues to be the biggest story in the world and that includes sports. With the disease officially labeled a pandemic by the World Health Organization we are starting to see steps taken to prevent it being spread. That includes NBA games without fans as after the San Francisco Health Office issued an order prohibiting events that gather more than 1,000 people the Golden State Warriors will play this Thursday’s contest against the Brooklyn Nets. Those who already purchased tickets will receive a refund. Other notable news includes the Seattle Mariners working with the MLB Office of the Commissioner on alternative plans for games that were scheduled at T-Mobile Park at the end of March following an edict from the Governor of Washington. In addition the College Basketball Invitational will be canceled due to the impact of the coronavirus on college campuses throughout the country. Unfortunately this is probably just the beginning of the fallout in the sports world as hopefully these measures will help bring the spread of the coronavirus to an end.
