SEC baseball action will continue on Saturday night for No. 14 Alabama as the team hosts No. 5 Tennessee in Tuscaloosa for the second game of the teams' series. The Crimson Tide come into Saturday's game with an overall record of 15-3 and a conference record of 0-1 after dropping its conference opener against the Vols last night in an 11-3 loss. Tennessee held Bama to just seven hits over nine innings of play led by TJ McCants, Ian Petrutz and Will Hodo who each went 2-for-4 at the plate with one RBI each. Ben Hess got the start for the Crimson Tide and pitched 3.2 innings, striking out six batters and giving up four earned runs.

The Volunteers have been dominant so far this season and bring a 17-game win streak into Saturday night's game. The team is now 18-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. Tennessee had three players homer in yesterday's 11-3 win with Dylan Dreiling hitting a two-run shot in the third, Blake Burke hitting a two-run shot in the fourth and Kavares Tears hitting a two-run homer in the sixth. Dalton Bargo accounted for another two RBI with a two-run double in the fifth. AJ Causey got the win for the Vols with 6.2 innings of work giving up two earned runs and striking out eight batters.
