The No. 6 seed in the tournament, San Diego State, will play for a Mountain West championship Wednesday against the No. 1 seed and the No. 21 ranked team in the nation, UNLV, at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. The Aztecs finished their season 22-12 overall and just 10-8 against conference teams in the MWC. They entered the tournament in the first round, beating San Jose State by 21 points. They moved on to the quarterfinal where they upset the No. 2 seed in the conference New Mexico by 11 points on the back of 14 points from Adryana Quezada. In the quarterfinals they took on Boise State and came away with a three-point win to advance to the championship. Quezada led the team again dropping 26 points in that win.

The Rebels finished the season 29-2 and 17-1 against conference teams. They entered the tournament in the quarterfinal stage beating Fresno State 83-35 with 16 points from Alyssa Brown to lead the team to the semifinals.
In a semifinal matchup with the Colorado State Rams they once again dominated, winning by 10 points last night on the back of 18 points from Amarachi Kimpson.
