Tarleton State and UT Arlington will look to earn the final spot in the WAC championship with a win when the teams meet on Friday night.

On Friday night, WAC tournament play will continue for second-seeded Tarleton State as the team takes on third-seeded UT Arlington in the second semifinal with the hopes of earning a berth in the championship game with a win. The Texans come into Friday's semifinal with an overall record of 23-8 and a conference record of 16-4 which gave them a first-round bye in tournament play. The team finished off the regular season with a narrow 69-66 victory over Seattle U last weekend. KiAndre Gaddy led the team in scoring with 21 points while Devon Barnes and Adam Moussa joined him in double figures with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Emmanuel Innocenti led on the boards with 10 rebounds and added seven points to the scoreboard in the win.

The Mavericks bring an overall record of 19-13 into Friday night's semifinal matchup after beating fifth-seeded Stephen F. Austin on Thursday night with a big 109-78 victory. Phillip Russell delivered an impressive 30-point performance for the Mavericks to lead the team in scoring. DaJuan Gordon added 17 points to the scoreboard while Makaih Williams and Dwayne Koroma were also in double figures with 16 and 11 points, respectively. Aaron Cash led on the boards with seven rebounds to go along with eight points. 

The last time Tarleton State and UT Arlington met was a month ago in regular season play and the game resulted in a narrow 80-78 win for Tarleton State.
