Owen Duffy finished the game with five goals and one assist to lead the Tar Heels' offense while Dominic Pietramala added four goals and one assist. Collin Krieg and Kent Goode shared responsibilities in the net and combined to make five saves. All four goals were scored on Krieg.
The last time Stony Brook and North Carolina met dates back to 2003 and resulted in a 13-7 win for UNC to move to 6-0 in the all-time series between the teams.
