Indiana and Penn State will look to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament with a Big Ten Tournament final victory on Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday afternoon, the top two teams in the Big Ten will square off in the Big Ten Tournament final as second-seeded Penn State takes on top-seeded Indiana in Bloomington. The Nittany Lions made it through to the final after beating Rutgers 3-1 in the first round before beating Ohio State in penalties in the semifinal round following a 1-1 draw in regulation. The Buckeyes scored in the first three minutes, but the Nittany Lions countered with a goal from Samson Kpardeh in the 24th minute. The game remained gridlocked through two overtime periods leading to penalties. It came down to the final shot when Kris Shakes made a save to send the Nittany Lions through to the championship.

The Hoosiers come into the final on Sunday with a record of 11-4-4 overall. Indiana beat eighth-seeded Wisconsin 2-1 in the first round of tournament play before taking on fifth-seeded Michigan in the semifinal round. Against the Wolverines, the Hoosiers won 4-3 in a high-scoring victory. Maouloune Goumballe scored twice in the win while Hugo Bacharach and Tommy Mihalic each scored one goal apiece to help lead the team to the championship game. JT Harms made six saves in the semifinal game after facing 13 shots. 

When Penn State and Indiana met during the regular season, Indiana earned a narrow 2-1 victory in Happy Valley.
