The team brought a two-game win streak into the weekend after beating No. 18 Florida State in a midweek matchup on the road in a 4-1 victory. Abby Duchscherer went 2-for-4 at the plate with a solo shot to center field in the first to make it 1-0. Bailey Dowling made it 2-0 with a single up the middle to score Marlie Giles. Kali Heivilin accounted for the other two runs with a two-run shot in the sixth inning to secure the win against the Seminoles.

The Bulldogs have gotten off to a strong start this season and bring a six-game win streak into the weekend to bring their overall record to 21-3. The most recent win for Georgia ahead of their conference-opening series resulted in a 6-3 win against cross-state foe Georgia Tech on Wednesday. Sare Mosley hit two home runs in the win while Jayda Kearney and Tyler Ellison each hit one showing the incredible offensive strength the Bulldogs bring to the SEC this season. Lilli Backes earned the win in the circle with six innings of work and five strikeouts to move to 8-1 on the year.
The last time Alabama and Georgia met was during the 2022 season and Alabama won two of the three games in the teams' SEC series.
