The Bay Area Panthers aim to go from worst to first in the title game against the perennial power Sioux Falls Storm.

Seven-time Indoor Football League Champions Sioux Falls Storm today play for their first title since 2019 as they take on the Bay Area Panthers in the IFL Championship game in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both teams finished second in their respective conferences going a combined 19-11 during the regular season with Sioux Falls upsetting the number one seed in the Eastern Conference Frisco Fighters 45-44 last weekend. Both of the Strom’s playoff wins have been decided by one possession while the Panthers have won each of their playoff games by double-digits beating the Northern Arizona Wranglers 68-46 in the Western Conference Championship Game.

Bay Area went 1-15 in its inaugural season in 2022, but under head coach Rob Keefe posted a 10-5 regular season record this season. The Panthers have won eight of their last ten games. Panthers quarterback Dalton Sneed threw 47 touchdown passes, fourth most in the IFL this season, and finished ninth in the league in rushing yards while adding 27 touchdowns on the ground. Sneed played 10 games for Sioux Falls in 2022 accounting for 41 touchdowns a year ago.

Sioux Falls head coach Kurtiss Riggs, who announced his retirement earlier this season, will be coaching his final game today looking to win his 12th title with the Storm. A 2021 inductee into the Indoor Football Hall of Fame, Riggs is 265-66 as head coach of the Storm and a whopping 35-6 in the postseason.

This is the second meeting between the clubs as Sioux Falls defeated Bay Area 49-27 inside the Premier Center in Week 7 of 2022.
