The 26-year-old Yechun built his lead by knocking in seven birdies to just three bogies in the first round for a 68 and following that up with another seven birdies on Friday with two bogies to shoot a 67.
Yechun has one Korn Ferry Tour win so far in his career, which came last March at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open when he went 14 under par and defeated Peter Uihlein in a playoff for the biggest win of his career.
