They avoided an upset in the quarterfinals and then beat Ankeny in the semifinals on Thursday. The Cougars used a huge first quarter to send them to the semifinal win. The Cougars led by 17 in the first quarter and by 10 at halftime. They cruised in the second half and came away with the 63-51 victory. Cyrus Courtnery and Micah Schlaak led the team with 17 points each and Trey McKowen and Joseph Bean each added 13 points.

The Tigers are going to have their hands full trying to slow down the Cougars and pull off the huge upset.
The Tigers also used a big first quarter in their semifinal game to lead them to a win. They outscored Bettendorf by nine points in the first and another eight in the second to take a commanding 17-point lead at halftime.
They poured it on in the third quarter and came away with a 66-46 win. It now sets up a matchup with the top-ranked Cougars for the state championship.
