In the semifinals the Vikings defeated fifth-seeded Shiloh Christian 56-46 to advance to the state championship game while the Firebirds came away with a win over third-seeded Grafton 64-53 in their semifinal game.

For the Firebirds, they won four of their five playoff games by double-figures and all five by at least nine points. These two teams have proven to be the absolute best in NDHSAA Division A all season and in the playoffs.
