Anna makes its first appearance in a Texas state championship game on Friday morning when it takes on Tyler Chapel Hill for the 4A Division I title

Anna (14-1) held off Decatur in its Dec. 8 semifinal, advancing to its first Texas state title game. On Friday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, the Coyotes will face Tyler Chapel Hill (13-2) for the 4A Division I Championship. The Bulldogs have won five in a row since a 39-16 loss to Kilgore in the regular-season finale on Nov. 3, including a 21-19 victory over Kilgore in the quarterfinals on Dec. 1. Chapel Hill hammered Davenport in its semifinal game on Dec. 8 to reach its first title game since winning the state championship in 2011. The Bulldogs were also 5A champions in 1989 and lost the 4A Division I final in 2010.

Anna held a 38-13 lead over Decatur with less than two minutes to go at C.H. Collins Stadium in Denton before the Eagles scored two touchdowns in the final minute of play. Edward Chumley ran for 135 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries while Ziondre Williams threw for 209 yards and two scores and also got into the end zone on the ground.

Chapel Hill led Davenport 21-20 at Baylor's McLane Stadium in Waco on Dec. 8 before erupting for four touchdowns in the third quarter en route to a 56-33 victory. Rickey Stewart piled up 220 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries and Demetrius Brisbon Jr, also ran for three TDs, finishing with 161 yards on 18 attempts. Brisbon was also 6-of-7 for 170 yards in the air, connecting with Jayvin Mayfield on an 84-yard touchdown.

Stewart has run for 2,797 yards and 40 touchdowns this season while Brisbon has been a strong dual-threat with 1,664 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns to go with 1,939 passing yards and 26 scores. Cameron Kelly has 33 catches for 710 yards and 10 TDs. 

For Anna, Williams has 2,757 yards and 38 touchdowns through the air to go with 806 yards and eight rushing touchdowns. Chumley has 13 TDs on the ground and 999 yards. Sean Steens is the top target with 77 receptions for 865 yards and eight touchdowns. Jacob Emmers has 50 catches and 11 scores.
