Minnesota has picked up five points in its last two games after a three-game skid, hosts Boston at the Xcel Energy Center looking to avenge a shutout loss the last time the teams met.

Minnesota (9-4-3, 27 points) is in third place in the Professional Women's Hockey League standings with eight games remaining, three points behind Toronto and Montreal. On Wednesday night, Minnesota welcomes Boston (7-6-2, 20 points) back to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul with Boston tied for fourth and with nine games left on its schedule. Minnesota forward Grace Zumwinkle is tied for fourth in the PWHL with seven goals and 13 points, while goalies Aerin Frankel of Boston and Nicole Hensley of Minnesota are third and fourth, respectively, in save percentage. Boston shut out Minnesota 2-0 the last time they played in St. Paul on Feb. 25 and Boston is 2-0-1 in three meetings with Minnesota this season.

Hannah Brandt scored her second goal of the game 1:48 into overtime on Sunday to lift Boston to a 3-2 victory over visiting New York. Sophie Shirley tied the game at 5:22 of the third period. Boston doubled up New York with 46 shots to 23, including a 5-0 advantage in the brief overtime.

Taylor Heise ended Minnesota's 4-3 shootout victory over Ottawa on March 5 after Denisa Křížová scored her second goal of the game and season at 8:51 to tie the game. Minnesota led 2-0 before Ottawa stormed back with three straight tallies, two coming on the power play. Minnesota's 75.6 percent penalty-kill rate is the worst in the PWHL.

Kendall Coyne Schofield and Abby Boreen each have four goals for Minnesota while Kelly Pannek has 11 points. Hensley is 5-3-1 with a 1.98 goals-against average. Alina Müller paces Boston with 12 points while Brandt, Loren Gabel and Taylor Girard have four goals apiece. In net, Frankel is 4-4-2 with a 2.02 GAA.
