Boston comes off a shootout win on Saturday to jump one point ahead of Ottawa for fourth place and the final playoff spot. Both teams have seven regular season games remaining and the first place finisher will have 24 hours after the season ends to choose whether to play the third or fourth place team in the semifinals.

Kali Flanagan's second period goal was the difference as Toronto topped Montreal 2-1 on Sunday in Pittsburgh. The defense held Montreal to just 18 shots and Kristen Campbell made 17 saves in the win. Hannah Miller's sixth goal of the season at 7:11 in the first opened the scoring before Montreal tied the game at 13:42 of the period.

Hilary Knight scored 3:05 into the game for Boston on Saturday in Detroit, then scored the decisive goal in the shootout to lift Boston to a 2-1 victory over Ottawa. Aerin Frankel made 25 saves in the victory and stopped four of five attempts in the shootout.

Toronto's Natalie Spooner leads the PWHL with 12 goals and is tied for second with 17 points. Campbell is 12-4-0 with a .925 save percentage and 1.93 goals-against average while leading the league with three shutouts. Boston, looking for additional punch, traded Shiann Darkangelo to Ottawa for Lexie Adzija, who has five goals this season. Frankel is 5-5-2 with a .929 save percentage and 2.01 goals against average.
