BKFC 54 is set for Friday at Arena Sofia in Sofia, Bulgaria, and features a pair of Bulgarian welterweights in their Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debuts in the main event. Rosen Dimitrov is 35-5-0 as an MMA fighter but hasn't had a fight since March 2019. The 41-year-old takes on Todor Zhelyazkov, 2-4-0 in MMA bouts and inactive since August 2018. They met once in the octagon, with Dimitrov getting a first-round stoppage by punches on Aug. 2, 2017. The bout headlines a nine-fight main card. The co-main event is another welterweight matchup between Georgia Valentinov and Bojan Kosendar, both from Bulgaria.

All fights on the card are scheduled for five rounds of two minutes each. Fighters may opt to wrap and tape their wrists, thumbs and mid-hand regions, but no wrapping material can be closer than one inch from the knuckles.
Valentinov is 22-6-0 in MMA bouts and last fought in September 2021. It is the pro-fighting debut for Kosendar. The card opens with light heavyweights Mehmet Ozer facing late replacement Steve Pasche. Mahmoud Ahmed takes on Florin Lupu (2-0-0) in a featherweight bout. Welterweights Vladislav Kanchev and Ilyas Sadykov are next, followed by welterweights Mladen Iliev and Yunus Emre Batan.
Bantamweights are up next, with Veselin Ivanov facing Marco Giustarini. Welterweight Marian Dimitrov (1-0-0) squares off with Jędrzej Durski and the final bout before the main events features Kaloyan Kolev and Amer Abdulnabi in a light heavyweight battle.
