MLB Playoffs and College Football Combine For Huge Sports Saturday
What a glorious sports Saturday we have in front of us. Not only do we have a full day of college football, but we also have four MLB elimination games today thanks to the new wild-card format.
Here’s what I’m watching.
MUST WATCH:
College football: No. 17 TCU at No. 19 Kansas
Kansas (yes, Kansas) has been arguably the best story of the college football season. The Jayhawks are 5–0 for the first time since 2009 and welcome a TCU team to Lawrence with high expectations. The Horned Frogs are coming off a 55–24 drubbing of Oklahoma and look like real threats to take the Big 12 crown.

LINEUP:
• College football: No. 8 Tennessee at No. 25 LSU | This is what LSU brought in Brian Kelly for: big-time ranked matchups in SEC play. But it’ll be a challenge to stop Hendon Hooker and this potent Tennessee offense. Noon p.m. ET, ESPN, watch on fuboTV
• Tampa Bay Rays at Cleveland Guardians | Cleveland took Game 1 behind a strong outing from ace Shane Bieber. Tampa Bay now sends Tyler Glasnow to the mound facing elimination, but no one knows how much the right-hander will be able to give after returning from injury on Sept. 28. 12:07 p.m. ET, ESPN 2, watch on fuboTV
• College football: No. 11 Utah at No. 18 UCLA | The Bruins are looking to back up their big win over Washington last week with another Top-25 win, this team against Utes. 3:30 p.m. ET, Fox, watch on fuboTV
• Seattle Mariners at Toronto Blue Jays | The Mariners’ return to the postseason has started off strong. A shutout win in Toronto has put them a win away from advancing. 4:37 p.m. ET, ESPN, watch on fuboTV
• San Diego Padres at New York Mets |.Yu Darvish went seven strong innings while Max Scherzer was lit up by the Padres’ lineup. San Diego’s 7–1 win has put them one game away from knocking out the 101-win Mets. 7:37 p.m. ET, ESPN, watch on fuboTV
HIDDEN GEM:
Philadelphia Phillies at St. Louis Cardinals
Could this be the last game of Albert Pujols’ storied career? The Phillies scored six runs in the ninth to beat the Cardinals yesterday, putting St. Louis in a win-or-go-home situation. Philadelphia will send Aaron Nola to the mound against Miles Mikolas.
8:37 p.m. ET, ESPN 2, watch on fuboTV
