Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s Meet in WCC Title Game

Plus, Chelsea and Dortmund meet again in the Champions League knockout stage.

Championship Week in college basketball off to a good start last night with UConn outdueling Maddy Siegrist and Villanova in the women’s Big East tournament. The journey to Selection Sunday continues tonight, this time with a ranked men’s matchup in the WCC title game between Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s. Plus, don’t miss action in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League and the Lakers taking on the Grizzlies in Los Angeles.

Here’s what I’m watching today.

Men’s CBB, WCC championship: No. 9 Gonzaga vs. No. 16 Saint Mary’s

Gonzaga has made it to this game for more than two decades straight, illustrating its nearly unprecedented dominance of the WCC. The Bulldogs will get tested tonight, though, against a Saint Mary’s team that ranks in the top 20 of the AP poll and already beat the Zags once this season. Gonzaga star Drew Timme is getting one more crack at an NCAA championship this year to try to end his storied career in Spokane on the right note, and adding one more WCC title to his trophy case wouldn’t hurt.
