ESPN Reveals WNBA Broadcast Schedule for 2023 Season

The WNBA season tips off May 19, and—if you can’t catch the action live in person—all 12 teams will be featured on national broadcasts. ESPN announced Wednesday that 25 regular-season games will be aired across ABC, ESPN and ESPN2.

The ABC/ESPN/ESPN2 broadcast schedule gets underway on the league’s opening day. On May 19, eight-time WNBA All-Star Brittney Griner will make her anticipated return to the Phoenix Mercury against the Sparks in Los Angeles. The Sparks’ revamped roster also includes 2016 WNBA MVP Nneka Ogwumike. That game will air on ESPN and also stream on ESPN+. It will be the first time a WNBA game will be available on the streaming service.

ESPN will present up to 52 WNBA games, including the WNBA Playoffs and WNBA Finals. In a history making move, the WNBA All-Star Game will air for the first time in primetime as well.

The New York Liberty, which will feature stars Jonquel Jones, Breanna Stewart, Courtney Vandersloot and Sabrina Ionescu, will play nine games across ESPN platforms. The defending champion Las Vegas Aces will appear seven times. The two teams, which feature a combined eight 2022 WNBA All-Stars, will meet four times in the regular season, including during a clash on ABC.

ESPN will also provide additional coverage via WNBA Countdown, its pregame show that was introduced in 2022.
