Tomekia Reed Reportedly Interviewed With Tulane University For The Green Wave's Head Coach Position
The SWAC Coach of the Year is a hot commodity for Division I programs.
According to a source cited by Times-Picayune sports columnist Rod Walker, Jackson State head coach Tomekia Reed interviewed with Tulane University.
Last week, HBCU Legends wrote that Reed would be a good fit for the Green Wave women's basketball program because of her coaching acumen, tremendous recruiting ability, and program development.
Coach Reed's contract expired on Easter Sunday, and Jackson State has not officially reported initiating a contract extension for the SWAC Coach of the Year. HBCU Legends reached out to Reed over the weekend, but she has not responded by the time of this report.

Like many other university athletic directors and decision-makers, Tulane may have been influenced by UConn head coach Geno Auriemma's strong endorsement of Reed.
"They certainly don't get on TV enough, and they certainly don't get enough recognition, and I wanted to let her know that, and I wanted to put myself out there for her. I think we need coaches like her to be celebrated," Geno Auriemma said about Reed in his postgame interview.
Although Tulane spoke to Reed, she may have upcoming interviews with higher-level Division I schools.
We shall see.
