Bracketology Watch: Virginia Tech Loss Drops Pitt to 10 Seed

ESPN's Joe Lunardi dropped the Pitt Panthers to the 10 line after they lost on the road to Virginia Tech.

PITTSBURGH -- This weekend's loss to Virginia Tech stung, but was not devastating to the Pitt Panthers' NCAA Tournament hopes. They fell in the latest bracket projection released by ESPN's Joe Lunardi but not very far.

Lunardi had the Panthers as the No. 37 overall seed - the lowest-ranked of just five ACC teams to make the field. He has them pegged as a 10 seed, down from their previous spot as a nine seed.

Lunardi did not released a full bracket prior to the final games of the weekend but his last version, which was made before the weekend began, had the Panthers playing Auburn in the 8-9 game of the West Region. Top-seeded Purdue looms for the victor. Florida Atlantic, Boise State, Arkansas and Nevada were the 10 seeds that Pitt replaced.
