Now, these teams meet again with a new and improved 49ers team that hasn’t won a Super Bowl since the early 90’s. They are starving for a Championship, and the only team standing in their way is an experienced Kansas City team who is looking to defend their title. Our 2024 Super Bowl picks are not easy ones to make considering the talent that both teams possess on either side of the ball, but we believe we can find an edge in this one.
So far in these playoffs, the 49ers haven’t had it easy. They’ve had to battle from behind and win both of their games in dramatic fashion in order to reach the big game. Brock Purdy has shown some signs of being shaky at times, but he continues to prove his doubters wrong in crunch time, with clutch game winning drives. Running back Christian McCaffrey has been outstanding all year for the Niners, and his dominance continued into the playoffs, as he’s already scored two touchdowns in each of the 49ers playoff games. The Chiefs defense is rated highly, and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has been fantastic every step of the way. However with McCaffery, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk on the other side, we think this may be where the Chiefs defense finally falls short. There truly is no defensive scheme to slow down this offense. When they’re on, they’re on.
