Braves are reportedly interested in reuniting with outfielder Adam Duvall

The Braves have done their due diligence on outfield options as we approach the trade deadline

Blooper's best friend was Adam Duvall's son, Stone.

Look at that - this team just won the NLCS, sending them to the World Series, and Stone's more concerned with finding his boy Blooper.

If the baseball gods have their way, Stone and Blooper might be reunited.

Sean McAdam of MassLive is reporting that the Atlanta Braves "are said to have some interest" in reuniting with Duvall at the trade deadline. Duvall, 34, has been traded three times at the trade deadline, including twice to Atlanta. Prior to his MLB debut, the San Francisco Giants traded him to the Cincinnati Reds, who later sent him to Atlanta. After signing with the Miami Marlins as a free agent, he was re-acquired by the Braves at the trade deadline and won the World Series with the team in 2021.

There's lots of reasons why Duvall could come to Atlanta for a third time - his contract (one year, $7M) means he's owed only about $2.3M for the rest of the season. The Red Sox seemingly have their outfield set, with Masataka Yoshida in left field, former top prospect Jarren Duran in center, and Alex Verdugo in right, with depth options in Rob Refsnyder and Kike Hernandez. And he's familiar with both the organization and the current roster, having played with many of these Braves during his two stints in Atlanta.

Duvall's played in only 39 games this season, a result of a fractured wrist early in the season. He's batting .257/.320/.515 with seven home runs, 27 RBIs, and four stolen bases.

Boston's said to be looking for starting pitching - they're been decimated by injuries, with Chris Sale, Tanner Houck, and Garrett Whitlock all on the injured list. It's unsure if Atlanta's willing to deal from their back of the rotation depth - it only takes one or two injuries (or a pitcher like Max Fried not returning from their injury on time) for that strength to become a weakness, and Atlanta's trying to make it back to the World Series.

And for the record, Adam Duvall's not necessarily looking to leave Boston. He's been traded three times at the deadline before, and it takes a toll:

“It’s never easy,” he said. “You’ve got to pick your family up and move and find a place. You’re starting the season all over again. I know that it’s not easy. (No matter how often it’s happened), I don’t know that you be prepared for it, because I’m trying to stay mentally focused on where I’m at right now that I don’t even let myself go to, ‘OK, well if this were to happen...’ I don’t even go there.
“It’ll be a surprise to me if something happens. I really like this group of guys.”

But if it does happen, there will be no one happier than Stone Duvall.
