Dodgers News: Yency Almonte Placed on Paternity Leave Amid Series of Roster Moves for LA
There's lots of movement within the Dodgers roster as LA has just announced RHP Yency Almonte has been placed on paternity leave. Additionally, RHP Daniel Hudson was unfortunately placed on the injured list.
This change has left the Dodgers no choice but to bring back Alex Vesia and Nick Robertson to the active roster.
According to OC Register's, Bill Plunkett, the Dodgers also have Landon Knack on a taxi, just in case RHP Brusdar Graterol needs to see some time on the team's Injured List.
The timing could not have been worse as the Dodgers are trying to get the best results possible before the All-Star break next week.
The team's IL is looking packed with pitchers such as Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler, Alex Reyes, J.P. Feyereisen, Noah Syndergaard, Daniel Hudson and possibly Brusdar Graterol. There's definitely a sense of panic in the air for Dodger fans everywhere.
After the Dodgers close the series against the Pirates on Thursday, they play two games against the Los Angeles Angels before next week's break due to the midsummer classic in Seattle.
The All-Star break definitely can't come soon enough, as the Dodgers desperately need to get healthy all around.
Nonetheless, congratulations to Yency Almonte and his wife on the welcoming of a child into the world.
