Philadelphia Phillies Unveil Highly-Anticipated City Connect Uniforms

The Philadelphia Phillies have tried keeping their new City Connect uniforms under wraps until they unveiled them officially today.

The Philadelphia Phillies unveiled their highly-anticipated City Connect uniforms on Friday, in advance of wearing the jerseys for the first time in a game next week.

The Phillies will wear the jerseys on April 12 in a home game against the Pittsburgh Pirates and then wear them for all 12 Friday home games this season.

They debuted the new City Connect uniforms at the team shop at Citizens Bank Park at 10 a.m. and then dropped images and videos of the uniforms on social media.

Philadelphia is one of nine teams who will debut City Connect uniforms this season, along with the Cleveland Guardians, the Detroit Tigers, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Minnesota Twins, the New York Mets, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Nike and MLB has been partnering on the City Connect uniforms since 2021.

According to MLB.com, five players participated in the photo shoot to debut the uniforms — Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, J.T. Realmuto, Bryson Stott and José Alvarado.

In March, Alvarado said the jerseys were "beautiful" and that it was "something new, it’s something different for the city."

The Phillies have four uniforms right now — their home red pinstripes, the home creams, the home powder blues and the road grays.

None of the players revealed details about the uniforms in the interview, but Harper had high praise for the City Connects during the MLB interview.

"I think this is going to be something that is very cool for everybody," he said. "I think once people see the jersey and the entire uniform, they’re going to like the look. They’ll like how it all comes together."
