Former Cincinnati Reds All-Star Jesse Winker Signs Minor League Deal With Washington Nationals

The 30-year-old is hoping to show everyone that he's still a capable big league hitter.

CINCINNATI — Former Reds All-Star Jesse Winker has signed a minor league deal with the Nationals according to Andrew Golden of the Washington Post.

Winker, 30, spent the first five years of his career with the Reds. He was an All-Star in 2021, posting a .305/.394/.556 slash line.

That was Winker's best season and he's struggled over the past few years in Seattle and Milwaukee, respectively.

The lefty is hoping to show the Nationals that he still has something left in the tank.

The Reds traded Winker and third baseman Eugenio Suárez to the Mariners for Brandon Williamson, Jake Fraley and Justin Dunn nearly two years ago (March 14, 2022).

It's safe to say the Reds got the better end of that deal.
