The Latest on Derrick White's Status for Wednesday's Celtics-Sixers Game

Wednesday night's rivalry clash between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers features a battle between two of the NBA's top teams to start the 2023-24 season.

While the former, who was the last of the league's unbeaten, is coming off its first loss of the campaign, a 114-109 overtime defeat vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston boasts the highest net rating in the Association at 14.1, is producing the second-most points per 100 possessions at 119.9, and ranks fourth in defensive rating at 105.8.

The Sixers, who host Wednesday's matchup between the two, have the second-best net rating in the NBA at 12.6. Like the team they're welcoming to Wells Fargo Center, they're generating 119.9 points per 100 possessions. And their 107.3 defensive rating ranks fifth.

Adding to the quality of this rivalry showdown is that Derrick White, initially listed as probable after missing the Celtics' last two games, with him and his family welcoming their second child, will make his return.

The former Colorado Buffalo missed Wednesday morning's shootaround, but with the City of Brotherly Love a short flight from Boston, he'll be in the lineup as his team looks to bounce back from its first loss of the season.

The only other player on the visitors' injury report is center Neemias Queta, who will miss his fifth-straight game due to right foot injury management.
