Bulls vs. Suns Prediction, Player Props, Picks & Odds: Today, 1/22
The Chicago Bulls (21-23, 9th in Eastern Conference) travel to Phoenix to battle the Suns (24-18, 7th in Western Conference) at 9:00 PM ET. This is the second and final 2023-24 regular-season meeting between these two squads, as the Suns defeated the Bulls in Chicago on November 8, 116-115, in overtime. That first meeting was obviously some time ago, and both teams look much different now. While the Bulls are relatively hot lately, going 6-4 so far in January, the Suns enter this game riding a five-game winning streak.
In the ensuing article, our experts provide an in-depth game preview and betting analysis, complete with an official Bulls vs. Suns prediction that includes Bulls vs. Suns player props. Bulls vs. Suns Predictions for Today, 1/22
The Bulls come into this one on a modest two-game winning streak, though each victory has come against opponents that don’t look to be playoff-bound. The Bulls defeated the Toronto Raptors on the second night of a Raptors’ back-to-back and then handled the Memphis Grizzlies, who are completely decimated by injuries. Tonight, they have some of that same luck, as the Suns are on the second night of their own back-to-back, after defeating the Indiana Pacers last night.
The difference here is that the Suns are a much better team and a threat to contend for the NBA Finals this season. Now the Suns are completely healthy in their primary rotation, featuring the big three of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, so the inferior Bulls, who are without star Zach LaVine, likely won’t be able to overcome the schedule advantage this time.
Not only are the Suns healthy, but their stars are clicking, entering tonight with five straight wins, four of which have been against playoff-caliber teams: Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans and the Indiana Pacers. All but one of the wins on this streak have been by six points or more, so what makes you think they cannot cover against the Bulls at home?
Each of the Bulls’ six wins this month have come against sub-.500 record opponents, while each of their four losses have come against formidable opponents, with three road losses to playoff teams like the Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers, plus a nine-point home loss to the Golden State Warriors. The Suns belong in this category of teams, so we believe the Suns -5 (-110 at FanDuel) is a must-play portion of our Bulls vs. Suns prediction.
We don’t see the back-to-back aspect factoring into the Suns’ ability to win tonight, but we do think it plays a part in keeping this game lower-scoring. The first meeting already needed overtime to clear tonight’s game total, and we do not see the Bulls forcing OT tonight. The Bulls score the fewest points per game in the Eastern Conference and allow the 9th fewest points per game in the entire NBA. Meanwhile, the Suns are middle-of-the-pack in both areas. We see the Suns settling to play at the slower pace the Bulls prefer, resulting in a lower-scoring game. Take Under 228.5 Total Points (-110 at FanDuel) to complete the traditional plays from our Bulls vs. Suns prediction.
Bulls vs. Suns Player Props & Free Picks Featuring Coby White & Bradley Beal
We have two Bulls vs. Suns players props and one player for each team. First, let’s discuss our Bulls pick.
Bulls guard Coby White played the best basketball of his career in LaVine’s absence earlier this season, playing 38.1 minutes per game in December, averaging 22.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists. Well, unfortunately for the Bulls, LaVine is out again, so White needs to step up again.
While he has maintained an elevated level of play in an all-around fashion, White has recently seen a dip in his three-point shooting, an area where he has excelled to the tune of 2.8 3PM / 7.0 3PA (39.7%) this season. This number was even better four games ago, but White has since gone 3-17 from deep. We don’t expect this sharpshooter to continue this downtrend, as he has proven to bounce back from shooting slumps all season long. With his line set at 2.5 three-pointers made tonight, we gladly take a chance on Coby White Over 2.5 Made Threes (-138 at FanDuel).
On the Suns side of our Bulls vs. Suns player props, we focus on the team’s big offseason addition, Bradley Beal. Beal only managed to play eight games before the New Year, due to ongoing injuries, but since his insertion into the fold at the start of 2024, the Suns have been rolling.
Beal is coming off one of the most efficient outputs of his season, pouring in 25 points on 11-of-16 from the field last night. He managed 25 points while only attempting one three-pointer, which he missed. While rest tends to a lot of players well, we believe Beal found a groove last night, and getting back out there tonight will lead to another efficient performance. Beal doesn’t have to do all that much to clear his points prop, as FanDuel has his line set at 17.5. Compared to Durant and Booker, whose lines are set at 26.5 apiece.
If Beal takes 75% as many field-goal attempts tonight, we believe he can still clear this points prop, so take Beal Over 17.5 Points (-125 at FanDuel) to complete our Bulls vs. player props and our Bulls vs. Suns prediction.

Bulls vs. Suns Odds & Lines via FanDuel Sportsbook for Today, January 22nd, 2024
We mentioned the Bulls vs. Suns player props odds and the odds tied to our traditional Bulls vs. Suns predictions, but for a clear picture of FanDuel’s odds regarding this game, check out the bulleted list below:
- Point Spread: Bulls +5 (-110) vs. Suns -5 (-110)
- Money Line: Bulls (+168) vs. Suns (-200)
- Point Total: Over 228.5 (-110) / Under 228.5 (-110)
- Coby White Made Threes: Over 2.5 (-138) / Under 2.5 (+108)
- Bradley Beal Points: Over 17.5 (-125) / Under 17.5 (-102)
Since our Bulls vs. Suns prediction centers around a variety of picks, it’s important to explain how the odds relate to potential payouts with each selection. If your goal is to make $100 while tailing White in the three-pointer market, a $138 wager and three threes splashed by White are required. If you target Beal, a $125 bet profits $100 if he scores 18 points or more.
If you aim to back our Bulls vs. Suns prediction on a more traditional betting market, a $110 bet on the Suns cashes $100 if Phoenix wins by six points or more. Regardless of what you choose to bet, make sure you do so at FanDuel, where all new users are set up to receive $150 in bonuses following a $5 first bet on anything.
Bulls vs. Suns Injury Report and Projected Starters
The Bulls enter this game down a key starter, Zach LaVine, while the Suns are only down one role player, Bol Bol. Beal’s presence marks the Suns’ big three, and that swing marks a significant advantage, evidenced by FanDuel Sportsbook’s odds and the direction of our Bulls vs. Suns prediction.
