Chargers' Jim Harbaugh Seen With Potential Top Edge Rusher in Draft Class

The Los Angeles Chargers hold the fifth overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, giving them a prime chance to take a true game-changer for the franchise. Los Angeles is likely to use their selection on either a wide receiver or offensive tackle, but the team has other holes across the roster that they need to address.

The Chargers have been meeting with players that they could target in the second and third rounds of the draft, or even potentially moving up to select another first-rounder if they were to make a trade. New head coach Jim Harbaugh was recently seen with UCLA Bruins edge rusher Laiatu Latu, who is seen by some as one of the better pass rushers in the entire draft class.

Latu won't be taken fifth overall, but he could become an option if the Bolts were to acquire another first-round pick. He is expected to be taken anywhere between the middle of the first round to the end of the round.

There has been talk about the Bolts possibly moving back from their No. 5 pick, which would likely give them more ammo to use. This could be how they land Latu in the first round and he would give them a dominant presence along their defensive front.

Latu was dominant for the Bruins last season, racking up 13 sacks over 12 games. He gets off the line very quickly and would allow the Chargers to build around him for the foreseeable future. This could be a very good pick for Los Angeles if they can acquire his services.
