Chargers Met With Star Wide Receiver Expected to Be Taken in First-Round

The Los Angeles Chargers are expected to take a wide receiver or offensive tackle with their first round pick this year. Los Angeles holds the fifth overall selection in the upcoming NFL Draft, giving them a prime chance to take a franchise cornerstone for years to come.

There has been some talk about the Bolts potentially trading back to receive more draft capital, but the appeal of selecting a true game-changer may be too much. Los Angeles heavily needs help at the wide receiver position and this draft is very top-heavy.

The Bolts have met with a handful of potential options in the first round, including wide receiver Malik Nabers from LSU. Nabers would be an absolute steal for the Bolts with this pick, giving them a true No. 1 option going forward.

If the Bolts want Nabers, they will have to hope nobody moves in front of them to grab him. The three teams that hold the first, second and third picks all need quarterbacks, but the Arizona Cardinals don't. They could be the only team standing in the way of the Bolts grabbing Nabers.

Nabers starred at LSU this past season, posting 89 catches for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns. He helped the Tigers offense be extremely explosive throughout the year and his skillset should translate well to the NFL.

The star wideout would instantly become the favorite target of quarterback Justin Herbert, setting up a potentially dynamic duo. Los Angeles has plenty of options at pick-five, but selecting a player like Nabers may be too good to pass up.
