Chargers News: Potential LA Free Agent RB Target Shows Off Miraculous Recovery
The Los Angeles Chargers enter the offseason needing to upgrade across the board on their roster. They have some positions locked up, but after a tough 2023 season, nothing is guaranteed for them.
With the Bolts' need for the running back position, there has been much thought about who will take over for the team. It's been rumored that Los Angeles could bring back Austin Ekeler, or even make a splash signing like Saquon Barkley.
But another name on the free agent market could be of interest to the Chargers, and he would likely come a lot cheaper.
Free agent running back JK Dobbins posted a video of his recovery, showing the progress that he has made. He tore his Achilles at the beginning of the 2023 season and has been working his way back to make his return next year.
Dobbins would be an explosive addition to the backfield for the Chargers if he is healthy. He has shown growth throughout his time in the NFL and would get to work in a run-heavy system under new head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Being with the Baltimore Ravens, Dobbins has already worked with John Harbaugh, so it could be nice to get the chance to play for both brothers. However, the Ravens are interested in bringing Dobbins back into the mix and they know how his recovery is going better than anyone.
Dobbins has great speed and cutting ability in the open space. But the biggest issue for him has been injuries. He also tore his ACL, missing the entire 2021 season.
It remains to be seen if the Chargers will make a play for Dobbins, but he is a solid option. Los Angeles has multiple different paths that they can take this offseason, all of which should help improve their record for next season.
