Dr. Dakari Quimby

Dakari Quimby, Ph.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern California. He received a BA from Washington University in St. Louis, followed by a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Loyola University Chicago (LUC). Dr. Quimby is also a licensed clinical psychologist who operates a private practice (www.developyourmental.com) where he offers individual therapy and consulting to improve mental wellness in various professional environments. Dr. Quimby specializes in addressing mental health concerns of adults grappling with the effects of childhood or family-related stress, relationship challenges or a sense of unfulfillment in their current life stage. In addition to direct clinical practice, he affects systems more broadly by focusing on research and publishing multiple manuscripts on topics such as trauma, social equity and resilience strategies in communities of color. His scholarly contributions have earned him positions on the editorial boards of the Journal of Social Issues and Psychology of Violence.
