Whether you’ve been eyeing Samsung’s The Frame TV for years or just recently discovered it’s unique feature-set, it’s an excellent time to consider one.
Samsung’s week-long savings event—Discover Samsung Summer—kicked off today, May 15, and runs through May 21. And leading the pack out of the gate is an up to $800 off the TV that bests any other model for displaying works of art. You can also save on the 43-, 50-, 55-, 65-, 75-, and even the 85-inch size of the 2023 model.
Let’s walk through what makes The Frame so special ahead, but if you’re already sold you can get the discount here.
The Frame TV (Starting at $899.99, originally $999.99 at Samsung)
With The Frame it’s all about the overall design and special layer on top of a 4K QLED (Quantum Dot LED) panel. These work together to deliver a top-notch viewing experience, especially when the TV is off and it is displaying art.
The biggest difference over this Frame and the 2021 or older, is the anti-reflection coating which makes the works of art look more like a real painting as it blocks reflections of light—artificial or environmental—as well as household objects that might appear on the TV. You can choose to subscribe to Samsung’s Art Mode for access to thousands of pieces that you can browse and display. Alternatively, you can upload your own photos via the SmartThings app for Android or iPhone to show off your own photos.
Much like a painting or photo that hangs closely on a wall, Samsung created the “Slim-Fit Wall Mount” which comes included with The Frame. It’s fairly easy to install and lets this TV sit directly on the wall with little to no gap. This also means the ports live in a separate box, with just one thin cable that runs to the actual back of the TV. Samsung calls this the “One-Connect” box which houses HDMIs, ethernet, and optical ports among others.
Alongside the special panel and the thin design, Samsung’s Frame TV has a small black bezel that runs around it. You won’t get the actual “Frame bezel” in the box, they are sold separately but it’s basically an unwritten requirement. Those cost $99 for the 43-inch, $149 for the 50- and 55-inch, or $99 for the 65-, 75-, and 85-inch Frames. They come in several styles like Modern White, Modern Teak, Modern Brown, Beveled Brick Ride, and Modern Beige among others.
Samsung also offers an electronically rotating wall mount that lets you switch The Frame TV from a horizontal orientation to a vertical one with the touch of a button. That comes in two sizes—43-inch to 55-inch and 55-inch to 65-inch—at $349.99 and integrates easily with The Frame and other Samsung TVs.
Just like any other Samsung TV—IE: OLED or Neo QLED—The Frame is running a smart Tizen interface out of the box. This gives you access to all the major streaming services like Disney+, Apple TV+ and gaming services like Xbox Game Pass. Just remember you’ll need logins for the various services.
In terms of the savings, you’ll get the full $800 off the 85-inch and slightly lesser amounts off the other sizes. Our pick would be the 65-inch Frame TV which is a nice size and a solid discount down to $1,699.
